Everything happens in and around Palma Nova, so we'd recommend basing yourself there.

These are simply recommendations for those who love a good deal — there's absolutely no requirement to stay at any of these hotels. However, we'd love for you to stay fairly close to Palma Nova so you're near all the weekend's celebrations and activities.

getting to the island
Fly into Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) — direct flights run from most UK and European airports all through September. Book early for the best fares.
Palma Nova is roughly 25 minutes from the airport by taxi or pre-bookable shuttle. Local taxis run a set rate for this route (roughly €40 to the resort) and are generally a fair bit cheaper than Uber.
Plenty of car hire options are based around the airport. We've used Centauro and found it easy — full comprehensive insurance included, with human-free key collection. It's a short minibus ride from the terminal to their depot, though.
Everything on the weekend itinerary is in or around Palma Nova — walkable or a short taxi hop. No hire car needed unless you're making a holiday of it (which we thoroughly encourage). For local taxis, it's best to use a taxi rank or the 1Taxi! app to order one that picks you up on the meter.
Mallorca is glorious in September — Palma old town, Deià, mountain drives and quiet coves. Come early or stay on; there are plenty of beautiful beaches nearby, and Port de Sóller is well worth the trip.

Leave the stilettos at home! We'll be on grass / gravel / cobbles / sand, so block heels, wedges or flats, are recommended. Save your ankles and bring shoes you can comfortably dance in.
